Delete Domain

Deleting a domain permanently removes it and all associated data from the LLS platform. This operation cannot be undone. All configurations, templates, and certificates tied to the domain are destroyed immediately upon deletion.

warning

Domain deletion is permanent and irreversible. All data associated with the domain — including stream configurations, templates, certificates, and CNAME records — is immediately and permanently deleted. There is no recovery option. Ensure you have backed up any required configurations before proceeding.

The data permanently deleted differs by domain type.

Prerequisites

Before deleting a domain, consider the following:

  • Inactivate active streams — If any streams are currently live on an ingest domain, inactivating the domain first (see Activate / Inactivate a Domain) reduces abrupt viewer disconnections before deletion.
  • Update DNS records — Remove or update any DNS CNAME records pointing to the LLS CDN target for the domain to avoid dangling DNS entries.
  • Export configurations — Record any template or configuration settings you may need to recreate on a replacement domain.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Domains page.

In the LLS console, select Domains from the left navigation menu.

  2. Locate the target domain.

Find the domain you want to delete in the Domains list.

  3. Click Delete in the Operations column.

In the Operations column for the target domain, click Delete. A confirmation dialog appears summarizing the domain name and the data that will be permanently removed.

  4. Confirm the deletion.

Review the confirmation dialog carefully. Type the domain name or click the confirmation button as required. The platform deletes the domain and all associated data immediately.

The domain is removed from the Domains list.
