Associate Domains
Associating domains establishes a routing relationship between an ingest domain and a delivery domain. Once associated, streams pushed to the ingest domain are made available for delivery through the linked delivery domain. This association is required before any live stream can be played back by viewers.
Prerequisites
- At least one active ingest domain (see Create a Domain and Verify a Domain)
- At least one active delivery domain
Both the ingest domain and the delivery domain must have a State of Active before an association can be created.
Steps
-
Navigate to the Domains page.
In the LLS console, select Domains from the left navigation menu. The Domains list displays all registered ingest and delivery domains.
-
Select the target ingest domain and click Associate.
Locate the ingest domain you want to configure. In the Operations column, click Associate. The Associate dialog opens.
-
Enter the delivery domain and confirm.
In the Associate dialog, type or select the fully qualified delivery domain name you want to link to this ingest domain. Click Associate to save the configuration.
The Associate with Delivery Domain column in the Domains list updates to reflect the newly linked delivery domain.
Result
After association, streams pushed to the ingest domain are routed through the CDN and served to viewers via the associated delivery domain. The association appears in the Associate with Delivery Domain column of the Domains list.
Next Steps
- Anti-Leech — Protect stream ingest and playback with token-based authentication.
- Stream Management — Begin managing active streams on the associated domain pair.
A single ingest domain can be associated with one delivery domain at a time. To change the associated delivery domain, repeat this procedure and specify the new delivery domain. The previous association is replaced.
