Create a Domain

Before streams can be pushed to or served from the LLS platform, operators must register at least one ingest domain and one delivery domain. This procedure covers creating either domain type from the LLS console.

Prerequisites

  • An active LLS account with console access
  • A domain name that you own and can manage DNS records for

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Domains page.

In the LLS console, select Domains from the left navigation menu.

  2. Click Create Domain.

    The Create Domain dialog opens.

  3. Select the domain type.

    Choose one of the following:

    • Ingest Domain — Use this type to create a domain that accepts incoming RTMP streams from encoders or broadcasting software.
    • Delivery Domain — Use this type to create a domain that distributes live stream content to end viewers via CDN edge nodes.
  4. Enter the domain name.

Type the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) you want to register (for example, rtmp.ingest.example.com or live.example.com). The domain must be a domain you own and control in your DNS provider.

  5. Click Create.

The system registers the domain and adds it to the Domains list with a To Verify state.

Next Steps

After creating a domain, it must be verified before it becomes operational. Proceed to Verify a Domain to complete the DNS verification process and activate the domain.

tip

Create both an ingest domain and a delivery domain before setting up streams. Once both are verified and active, associate them by following the Associate Domains guide.
